Once you have determined your income and expenses how do they compare?
 
Is your income greater than expenses or are expenses more than income?
If expenses are greater than income, you must either increase your income or decrease the expenses.
Now is the time to recheck the expenses in comparison to your new knowledge of wants and needs. Is everything listed a need or are some a want?
